UPCARGO Chosen for Water Plant Project in Panama

With accelerated growth in the Panamanian population, the government started to work on the development of country-side cities; building a water treatment plant to dispatch drinking water for more than 500,000 families.
The consortium in charge of the project 'Water for Everyone' selected UPCARGO Logistics as a Project and Special Cargo company, giving the company responsibility to transport cargo from port-to-door.
UPCARGO was in-charge of the local trucking of 1,705 ductile iron pipes (8 mt and 1.52 dia ea.) from port to the site of discharge. The project was developed in 8.5 days and the team worked 24/7 to achieve their goals & maintain the customer satisfaction.
Services included port inspections, route inspections, studies of cargo diagrams, transport of oversized cargo, heavy cargo, reception of the vessel, day & night work, previous coordination with port, special escorts and cargo insurance.
The steps for this operation were as follows:
- The reception of the vessel
- Customs clearance documentation
- Direct discharge of the pipes (from the vessel to flatbed)
- The transport of pipes from the port to the site of discharge
- Discharge the flatbed and stock the pipes
