Pinto Basto Deliver 443 Pipes for Angola Water Supply Project

Pinto Basto have overseen the discharge of another 443 pipes for a major water supply and sanitation project in Luanda, Angola. Once completed, the project will significantly enhance access to drinking water for 5 million people.
This shipment forms part of a large-scale logistics operation comprising of 14 consignments shipped on general cargo vessels, requiring close coordination among all stakeholders involved in the transport and logistics chain.
To ensure the successful execution of the operation, Pinto Basto established a dedicated project team, bringing together professionals based in Angola and specialists deployed from Portugal to supervise discharge activities and ensure maximum efficiency throughout every stage of the process.
As both the ship agent and freight forwarder in Angola, Pinto Basto played a central role in supporting the cargo consignee and coordinating activities between the shipowner, stevedoring company, road transporter, shipper, and consignee. They were also responsible for managing and processing all documentation related to the shipment and import procedures.
The successfully completed operation involved the discharge of 443 pipes before 148 truck journeys for the inland transportation, highlighting the logistical complexity associated with an infrastructure project of this scale.
