PCN Members Successfully Handle Abnormal Load To Malawi

Last month, Globo Distribuidora (PCN members in Mozambique) handled an abnormal load of earth moving machines on behalf their fellow PCN agents, Express Global Logistics (EXG) in India. The transport was completed for a huge power & energy project subcontracted by Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd for the Malawi Government.

The machines were transported on flat-rack containers from Matadi in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to Beira in Mozambique where they were discharged to low-bed trailers (photographed in the gallery below) to reduce the height for secure transport and safety reasons. At Beira Port, they were loaded on Thursday 23rd June and shipped to Malawi, arriving on the evening of Saturday 25th, where they were cleared and delivered to the final site in Ntcheu on Monday 27th.

Managing Director at Globo Distribuidora, João Chiboleca adds; "Our companies are also handling a total of 500 containers (20' & 40') for a 17-month long project started in April 2016 which varies between 9 and 74 containers per B/L."
