PCN Foundation Raises $14755 for The Dream Trust

The majority of PCN Members recognise the importance of supporting and actively contributing to those who are less fortunate. We are aware that a small effort from each Member can make a big impact to those in need. The PCN Foundation provides the opportunity for Members to be able to make a difference to people’s lives through annual fundraising.

In 2012 we decided to source a charity and support it for 3 years, so that we had time to establish good relations and to make a real difference. The chosen charity was The Dream Trust in India, who fund life-saving insulin for poor children with Type 1 Diabetes. The charity is close to my heart as my youngest son; George was diagnosed with Type 1 when he was 9 years old.

My sister, Mary and I made a self-funded trip to Nagpur to visit the Dream Trust and witness their inspiring work. The PCN Head Office currently sponsors 11 children and we had the great privilege of meeting them all during our trip.

Since 2012, PCN Members together raised $9,840. We are now adding $4,915 to that total from our recent fundraising including a generous E1000 donation from Alexander Global Logistics GmbH in Germany – this brings the total to a fantastic $14,755.

The funds have been used to provide insulin, syringes, blood test strips and health care for the children. We have also funded educational scholarships, travel grants and rehabilitation programs to help the children to become self-reliant.

I am sure that you will agree that this is a great achievement that we have made together.

The PCN Head Office will continue with the 11 children’s sponsorship indefinitely and next year PCN will have a new charity to support and details will be provided in due course.
