PCN member in Oman, Muscat International Shipping & Logistics (MIS) have recently completed another project for the Saih Al Khairat Power Station in the Dhofar region of Oman near to Salalah.

The cargo included 6 DG 8mw Wartsila gensets with additional accessories plus 170 x 40" containers. Each genset weighed 140tns with dimensions of 13 x 3.7 x 4.4m. Mithun K. (Senior Accountant) explains "Our scope of work involved:

  • Receiving the 6 Wartsila gensets directly in multi-axles and the 170 x 40" containers from the vessel (Baltic Winter) at Duqm Port and moving & storing them on stools & beams at the port storage area.
  • Loading the 6 gensets from the storage area on multi-axle trailers.
  • The transportation from Duqm Port to the Saih Al Khairat Power Station with Royal Omani police escorts.
  • The unloading of the 6 gensets from the trailer and moving them to the foundation on stools at the Saih Al Khairat Power Station."
