KGE Nominated for Multimodal Project Transport to Al-Ula
5th November 2024
KGE are pleased to share an interesting and challenging multimodal project they recently completed from Switzerland to Saudi Arabia.
The project involved four traverse beams, which were moved by air freight and land transport across 5 days (including transit clearance). Each beam measured 7.06 x 1.42 x 1.93 metres with a weight of 4,590 kilograms.
The cargo was transported using two open top trucks from Switzerland to Frankfurt Airport in Germany, where they went through inspection and other procedures before proceeding with the air freight to King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh to be transported by truck to the final destination in Al-Ula.
Sales & Operations Manager at KGE, Jonathan Garcia comments; "The challenge was to move the cargo safely and securely from Switzerland to Germany and finish all the transit procedures including SABER import customs in Riyadh before its arrival. We had to plan the project carefully to strict conditions from the client that the cargo must reach the destination within 5 days. KGE does about 15% of our air cargo movements via multimodal transport".
KGE provided their customer with complete daily tracking and monitored the entire shipment, resulting in satisfied customer feedback for their professionalism and efficiency.
