KGE Baltic Nominated for Pipe Transport to Kazakhstan

KGE Baltic are glad to share a very interesting and challenging multimodal project involving loose pipes which were sent through Georgia to Kazakhstan.

The cargo measured 11.9 (L) x 1.67 (W) x 1.67 (H) meters and weighed 11 tons each, taking around 45-50 days for complete delivery including transit clearance.

These loose pipes were transported via sea freight, as well as inland haulage to Atyrau, Kazakhstan via Poti, Georgia.

Five open flat-bed trucks were utilised for this shipment, with KGE later transloading the cargo into open-top containers for transport across the sea.

Ten pipes were transhipped after their ocean travel onto tilt trucks, before continuing with land transportation via Azerbaijan to the final destination in Kazakhstan.

KGE's main challenge was to shorten the transit time of the cargo by sea, in which weather changes caused issues.

The company planned their route accordingly, allowing them to reach their destination within the time frame given.

"We provided our customer with daily tracking and monitored the shipment from start to finish, which resulted in satisfactory feedback."
