KGE Baltic & Livo Logistics Deliver Pipe-Layers to Tengiz Oil Field
11th March 2021
PCN members, KGE Baltic and Livo Logistics were contracted by their global client to handle project cargo from St. Petersburg Port to the Tengiz Oil Field. The cargo, which originally arrived from Veracruz in Mexico by breakbulk and container vessels, consisted of:
- 5 x Self-Propelled Pipe-layers (Fiat Allias FP60): Each at 545 x 316 x 315cm / 32,000kg
- 1 x 40'ОТ Container: 16,200kg
- 1 x 40'OT Container: 26,000kg
- 1 x 20'OT Container: 22,800kg
Arseniy Langfrid, Sales & Operations Manager at KGE Baltic explains; "The project was challenging and we faced several obstacles which postponed the delivery of the machines for almost a month. So the cargo was placed in the harbour terminal warehouse and after solving all the issues, we departed and delivered promptly and efficiently.
A big challenge was due to cold and freezing weather with temperatures going below -25, the engines would not start so service maintenance had to come to the port to defrost the fuel and start the machines. Issues with crane loading in the correct place were also solved and we have found the right solutions and performed the delivery of all the cargo in short notice."
A great job by the KGE and Livo teams, taking their best efforts to satisfy the client and get a successful result.
