Hacklin Logistics Ltd, a PCN representative in Finland since July 2011, is delighted to share news of a completed move of a Steel Tank from the west coast of Finland to Norway.

Managing Director, Marianne Blechingberg says "In January 2014, Hacklin Logistics loaded a large steel tank with the dimension of 20m long and 8,3 m in diameters and height 8,8m. The weight of the tank was 80 ton. This tank was the largest item ever manufactured at shipper Japrotek’s Pietarsaari factory.

Hacklin arranged the lifting onto grids at the shipper Japrotek’s permises in Pietarsaari whereafter the tank was loaded onto a flatbed trailer and transported to the port of Pietarsaari for loading. The transfer from the factory had to take place after working hours in order to avoid traffic obstacles on the route to Pietarsaari port.

The demanded scheduled was thoroughly planned and the chartered vessel was supposed to arrive the following morning to the port for loading in order to be able to keep the schedule. For the loading our project team arranged 2 mobile cranes with 175 respective 250 ton capacity as the weight was divided by 50 / 30 ton per crane, and the distance was 7,5 meter from the pier.

The vessel sailed from Pietarsaari on time after successful loading and tank arrived to ODDA port in Norway on January 20th. The arrival time was crucial as the consignee had ordered floating cranes for that day. According to information later received from Japrotek these tanks will most probably be used in the future so more interesting and challenging shipments can be expected."
