Gebrüder Weiss Kept Busy with Long-Term Cement Production Projects

Gebrüder Weiss have been kept very busy for the past year with some of the biggest projects handled by the company in Austria. For their Austrian client, they have delivered five complete cement production lines to African jobsites in Abidjan (Ivory Coast), Nouakchott (Mauritania), Tema (Ghana), Djermaya (Chad) and Diago (Mali). The operations have run from March 2015 to September 2016.

All transports were arranged on a door-to-door basis involving pick-up locations spread over fifteen countries across Europe and Asia. The breakbulk cargo had unit weights of up to 160tns as well as a considerable containerised volume of over 2600teu also shipped. Examples of the operations are shown in the gallery below.

Head of Project Logistics & Break Bulk at Gebrüder Weiss, Franco Ravazzolo: "Poor local infrastructure, rainy seasons and many other typical factors of West African trade did not make our operations easy, but now that the huge projects are completed successfully and in good order, we can cheer about them!"

Gebrüder Weiss are reliable PCN members in Austria.
