EZ Link and SCACLI Cooperate to Transport Machinery Plates

PCN Members EZ Link from Taiwan and SCALI in Canada have cooperated on a breakbulk shipment of out-of-gauge cargo.
The cargo was received ex-works from Taichung, Taiwan and was transported aboard a breakbulk vessel, delivered door-to-door at a city in Canada.
This shipment included two sets of machinery base plates, weighing 37,814 kg and measuring 15.1 (L) x 2.16 (W) x 2.29 (H) meters.
SCALI performed a tailor-made service in choosing the out-of-gauge cargo to be loaded at the Port of Taichung. It was discharged at the Port of Houston before onward transport to Canada.
To execute their side of operations smoothly, EZ Link conducted route surveys for the cargo in advance, arranging for specialised trucks to be utilised. Additionally, road permits were acquired for cargo with a length up to 15.16 meters.
Wooden beams were added to the bottom of the cargo structure to aid in lifting it on and off. Four basket hitches and eight lifting points were used for the vessel operation at ports.
