Express Global Logistics (EXG) were awarded the contract of moving a 38m long amine regenerator from North-West India to South-East India by one of the world's leading EPC contractors.

The distance of approximately 1,500km was covered in 30 days on 14 axles with a 10m spacer in the middle. The regenerator has dimensions of 38.3 x 2.33 x 2.37m (photographed in the gallery below) making this project a unique experience because of the massive length and the current lockdown situation.

Vishvendra Singh at EXG comments; "The length of the package poised interesting technical challenges for our engineers. A detailed route survey was conducted earlier but now the job was to be performed under an extended national lockdown with no means for a revised route survey".

The combination of EXG's seasoned operations team and highly experienced engineers were the contributing factor in the execution and success of this job. Most of the hurdles were foreseen in advance and solutions were incorporated in the performance methodology.

Vishvendra continues; "The major challenges were the insufficient turning radiuses on curves, climbs, slopes and obtaining permissions due to the lockdown. The route had a combination of rough and hilly regions for which the EXG crew was fully prepared for in advance. But the most challenging part was to get prior approvals from the authorities which was only possible with the help of our engineering team who proposed multiple solutions for each obstacle."

The successful execution of this job has ensured EXG's belief and investment in their most highly valued asset - their personnel.
