Delta Maritime with Logistics Management for TAP Project
10th September 2021
Delta Maritime (members in Greece) have been continuing their connection with the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) by handling logistics management for the first testing following production.
The project demanded meticulous transportation planning, short deadlines and special customs procedures concerning the transportation and special handling of scanning mechanisms with the purpose of inspecting and maintenance of the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP).
Cross-border operations, tight schedules and detailed timetables added to the complexity of customs formalities and transportation plans. Despite challenges, the operation was completed successfully with the NAS storage devices collected their necessary data and shipped back to NDT, Norway.
TAP is transporting natural gas from Caspian gas fields to Europe through Greece, Albania and Italy in order to be eventually distributed to Central Europe.
Delta Maritime has been involved in the construction of TAP since 2016, managing the main marshalling yard in Kavala and various pipe yards as well as delivering more than 17,000 shipments of pipes and construction machinery to sites – 80% of it being special transports.
"Delta maritime has been a proud supplier of TAP, directly or through EPC's, for the last 5 years!"
