Convoy Logistics Providers with Grain Shiploader Project in Vancouver
Convoy Logistics Providers with Grain Shiploader Project in Vancouver

Convoy Logistics Providers (CLP) are PCN members in Canada and are very pleased to share the details of a recent successfully completed project.

The job involved a series of shipments to Port Metro Vancouver (PMV) of an innovative 'mobile grain shiploader' to be installed at the Port's Pacific Terminal run by Canada's largest grain handler, Viterra. Once assembled and operational, the shiploader will increase the terminal's shipping capacity and allow for the loading of post-Panamax sized vessels. The cargo comprised of the newly manufactured shiploader, dock conveyor and transfer tower with the largest component of the shipment over 66m long and weighing 250mt. Photos of the operations can be viewed in the below thumbnail gallery.

Convoy Logistics Providers were responsible for logistics and planning and were appointed by the bulk material systems expert, EMS-TECH who designed and commissioned the shiploader. CLP worked with AAL and the cargo was transported from China along AAL's Pacific Service between Asia and North America aboard its 31,000dwt A-class vessel, the AAL Singapore.

Dona Asciak, CEO and Owner of CLP, commented; "After almost a year of planning, there is a great sense of accomplishment when you execute a well-planned logistics solution for your customer from 'stem to stern' and it proves successful and furthers their interests. We are proud to be involved in this project for EMS-TECH during such an exciting stage of expansion for Viterra Pacific Elevators at the Pacific Terminal."
