Celebrating Skill and Scale: Freightplus Win PCN's Mighty Moves Photo Competition

15th December 2025

As part of our 15th Anniversary Celebrations, PCN launched the Mighty Moves Photo Competition, inviting members to showcase the remarkable projects they handle around the world. The response was outstanding, with over 100 high-quality entries submitted, each capturing the precision, planning, and sheer scale involved in moving complex cargo.

The competition quickly became one of the highlights of the anniversary year. From heavy lifts and intricate installations to challenging routes and innovative solutions, the photographs offered a powerful visual reminder of the expertise that exists across the PCN membership. With such a strong standard of entries, selecting a shortlist proved no easy task.

Once finalised, the shortlisted images were opened to a wider audience, with PCN members and more than 25,000 followers on our LinkedIn page invited to vote for their favourite. The voting generated significant engagement and industry interest, reflecting the pride and passion behind each project on display.

The winning entry was announced during PCN's 15th Anniversary Conference and Celebration in London, where delegates gathered to mark this important milestone for the network. Congratulations were awarded to Freightplus in Australia, whose striking image captured the imagination of voters and earned the company a free registration to the PCN 2026 Annual Summit in Oman.

The project featured in the image was the shipment of a 14,000cbm, 1,049tn jack-up barge, the JUB Shirine, from Gibraltar to Port Dampier in Western Australia, to be used for the construction of a new port.

Freightplus collaborated with fellow PCN member, Aprojects to find a dry dock at a few days' notice then received the barge under tow in the Bay of Gibraltar, and towed it to the dry dock. A team of Freightplus biosecurity specialists were mobilised to Gibraltar for two months of intensive cleaning, including all external surfaces, interior tanks and accommodations, to clean the barge to 'as new' condition for Australian compliance. They also added lifting lugs and worked with Big Lift's technical team to prepare the heaviest lift of 928tn.

The barge delivery was a complete success and fully compliant with regulations and zero remedial cleaning required on arrival.

Freightplus have been trusted PCN members since 2019 and offer a comprehensive range of services. Their team have a passion for shipping difficult cargo and love the challenges of transporting very large pieces.

"When moving huge and heavy cargo, Freightplus understands exactly what is required."

The Mighty Moves Photo Competition not only celebrated a milestone anniversary but also highlighted the talent, professionalism, and global reach of the PCN community. It served as a visual tribute to the people behind the projects and the impressive moves that define the network.
