C.H.R.P.L. Delivers Tanks to Potash Mine Construction Site
24th July 2014
Freezing winter temperatures didn’t stop C.H. Robinson Project Logistics from successfully transporting two tanks, with a diameter of 10.4 metres, to site, for a mine construction project in Saskatchewan, Canada.
The operation required extensive permit negotiation, with the Saskatchewan highway authorities, and detailed coordination with the provincial power company, who accompanied each load. Crews escorted the trucks, to handle the numerous wire lifts, along the route. During the movement of the second load, a severe winter storm ensued, causing white-out conditions and requiring the truck and trailer to pull off the highway; setting up warning barricades for the duration of the storm.
Despite the extreme size of the cargo, and the harsh weather encountered along the way, C.H. Robinson Project Logistics successfully delivered the cargo to site, to meet the required schedule.
