Balena Projects Coordinate Transport of Four Transformer Sets
29th July 2026
PCN members in the USA and Canada, Balena Projects have coordinated the transport of four transformer sets and related equipment, each with a combined weight exceeding 110tns, from the Ports of Norfolk, VA and New York, NY to project sites in West Seneca, NY and Auburn, NC.
The units were discharged from the vessel using specialised crane and rigging equipment that were carefully selected by Balena Projects to meet the size and weight requirements.
Each unit was landed safely and positioned for onward transport, with surveyors present throughout to inspect the cargo and verify the lifting operation at every stage.
The cargo movement combined breakbulk shipments and containerised equipment, with the Balena Projects team managing port handling, inland transport, on-site offloading, and final positioning.
"This project reflects our hands-on experience with breakbulk cargo and our commitment to comprehensive, end-to-end logistics execution."
