3p Logistics Transport Wind Turbine Parts to Australia
21st October 2024
3p Logistics are pleased to report a successful shipment of wind turbines parts from Germany to Australia via the Port of Klaipeda in Lithuania.
The wind turbine parts totalled about 300 metric tons and consisted of towers and foundation rings.
This cargo was collected from the Port of Rostock in Germany by a coaster vessel and moved to the Port of Klaipeda, Lithuania.
On arrival at the Port of Klaipeda, the turbine parts were loaded onto an ocean vessel and shipped to Australia.
As well as the shipping, 3p Logistics were also responsible for operations such as loading & unloading, lashing & unlashing, customs clearance, and port handling.
Ilya Goncharov, Global Project Manager at 3p Logistics offered his comments on the project:
"The used wind turbine market is very huge and interesting in 2024 and the Baltic Sea region is a traditional market for 3p Logistics Industrial Projects. In my opinion, the market of wind turbines is the great place for small and mid-size forwarders. You need to act fast and find unique solutions - sometimes you need to get offers of more than 15 suppliers to find 1 solution even for a small stage of the project."
