The following photos show 2 recent projects successfully handled by Delta Maritime. Firstly, the transportation of 3 wind turbine sets moved from Spain to Ikaria, Greece. The sets included fourteen 20ft containers, 21.5m rotor blades, steel tower sections at 17m, three 31tn nacelles and three 24.3tn generators with dimensions of 4.1m x 4.1m x 3.1m. Delta also handled the on-carriage of the consignment from Ikaria to the final project site. A ro-ro vessel was chartered in order to carry the equipment to a smaller port closer to the wind farm site as the roads in Ikaria were unsuitable for transporting the oversize loads.
Next, Delta Maritime handled the road transportation of 30 lots of construction equipment from Poland to 3 sites in Greece: Platamonas, Koropi and Shimatari. The cargo consisted of Caterpillar excavators & crushers, Mercedes trucks, motor graders, driers, asphalt tanks and filter boxes. Some units weighed as much as 32tn with heights of 3.45m. The shipment was particularly challenging due to the winter road conditions.
